Created by the legendary automotive designerRay Dietrich, the original 1963 reversed conventional concepts for guitar bodies and headstocks. The Firebird Custom 1963 V has been played by artists such as Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Phil Manzarena (Roxy Music), as well as Keith Richards and Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones. But this is with Lynyrd Skynyrd masterpiece "Free Bird", that the Firebird entered in the Rock'n'Roll's Pantheon when composed and played by Allen Collins.
